With the cost of acquiring a new client now estimated as costing Irish businesses five times what it costs to keep an existing one, The Pembroke Hotel, Kilkenny’s boutique business hotel, has committed to providing vital corporate hospitality services, free of charge, to a new Irish business start-up.

Corporate hospitality is acknowledged as one of the most important customer retention tools available to modern businesses, creating networking opportunities and cementing business relationships.  It is also used to retain and motivate staff.

The Pembroke Hotel recognised the value of services of this type to Irish businesses and led the recently launched “Giving A Start” Competition 2011.  The competition is aimed at encouraging potential entrepreneurs to follow their dream and start their own business.

The concept for “Giving A Start” was co-developed by John Ryan, Managing Director of The Pembroke Hotel and six local professional service firms based at the adjoining 11 Patrick Street Business Centre.  A prize fund of EUR25,000 will be awarded to the winning fledgling business in late March 2011 and includes EUR3000 worth of corporate hospitality services at The Pembroke Hotel.

“The opportunity to entertain or reward clients or staff is a vital business tool, particularly in today’s highly competitive marketplace.  We developed the “Giving a Start” competition to help provide a high potential new business with this, and other vital services, to help it survive and thrive.  We look forward to welcoming the winning business to The Pembroke to enjoy our meeting, event and corporate hospitality services” said John Ryan, Managing Director, The Pembroke Hotel.

The Pembroke Hotel offers best in class conference & meeting facilities in the centre of Kilkenny City, with flexible and competitive delegate packages to suit all business requirements.

Closing date for receipt of entries for the nationwide “Giving A Start” Competition 2011 is Friday 4th March 2011.  The other contributors to the “Giving a Start” prize fund are Paschal Bergin Accountants & Tax Consultants; MD Media PR Consultants; Brian Dunlop Architects; Optimize Recruitment; Real Solutions Coaching and The Fitzwilliam Partnership.  Further details at www.elevenpatrickstreet.com.
